Cousins Originals - mixed media

Mehitable "HITTY" Preble is an actual little pegged, hand carved, 6.25" wooden pocket doll from the 1820's.  She currently resides at the Stockbridge Library Museum in Stockbridge Massachusettes.

These HITTY dolls are all hand carved by me, W. Joan Cousins.  I make all the clothes using only needle and thread, no machines.

My HITTY dolls are pegged at shoulders and hips so her arms and legs move in tandem, just like the original HITTY doll.

HITTY Jo was on display at the County Fair for 20 days and received rave reviews!

#6, HITTY "Jo" is 6.25" tall and comes with her bear and hat.  She is painted the same as the original doll and  comes fully dressed including her red "coral" glass necklace. Prices of dolls vary, "Jo" is $125.00 + $10.00 s/h.  SOLD.  Bench is display only. "Jo" loves her new home in NJ.

#7, HITTY "Chels" (Chelsea) is a very petite 6" tall and comes with her YoYo doll.  She is painted the same as the original doll and comes fully dressed including her red "coral" glass necklace. $175.00 + $10.00 s/h. SOLD.   Living happily in TN.

#7, #8, HITTY "Mae"  is 6.5" tall and is a commissioned doll for a dear lady in CO.  She is painted like the original doll with the exception of having Brown eyes.  $150.00 + S/h.  SOLD   Mae loves her new home in OR.
