WOODEN THREAD SPOOLS:  In days gone by all thread came on wooden spools, today they are of man made materials. When empty, these spools became all sorts of magical things like cars, cannons, telescopes, doll furniture, tops (with a bit of whittling) and saddly, many were just discarded. 

Today these wonderful old wooden spools are the canvas on which Joan Cousins does her own form of magic ... drawing and 'burning' in the graphics, adding color and a final finish of lacquer for longevity.  Truely a COLLECTORS ITEM for today and all generations to come!!!

PYROGRAPHY: The unique art of engraving and shading on a surface with a hot tool, sometimes called Poker Work.  This method of Ancient Art results in graphics that are most pleasing to the eye.
