PYROGRAPHY is the ancient art of creating fine art, and other graphics, with a hot tool.  This form of art is also known as Wood Burning, sometimes called Poker Work and may be also be known to some as Flemish Art. 

TREEN WARE:  These spoons are funct ional as well as decorative.  These smaller "white wood" spoons have tiny holes at the top of the handle for hanging if desired.  A length of fish line works well to thread through the side holes, or a straight pin through the front to pin on the wall.

EACH SPOON is designed by hand: first they are sanded and burnished, then the design is drawn free hand, next comes the burning followed by another sanding and burnishing and finally, a coat of food safe, purified, mineral oil to help preserve and protect the wood, as well as the art work.

These wooden spoons are not only for 'display' they can also be used with food.  They will gather their own unique colors as time goes by.  

They are best washed by hand, because the chemicals in dishwasher liquid will deteriorate the burning, and of course, wooden objects should never be put in the dishwasher anyway because of these chemicals. 

The outer edge of all the designs are burned deeper into the wood so you will always see the graphic.  Long term exposure to direct sunlight or florescent lighting will, over time, fade the lighter shading a bit but if you keep them oiled the process will be much much slower.

YES, we do COMMISSIONS and CUSTOM ORDERS.  Each spoon requires the standard cost of $15.00 each PLUS a one time $20.00 set-up charge for EACH single NEW design for quantities of 5 or more of the same design.Single Spoon CUSTOM orders will be priced according to the details of the design.  Set-up plus regular $15.00 cost. Actual cost of S/H will be added when determined.

We need ample time, at least a month, to fill Custom orders.  Longer if the quantity is over 10 and even more during the Holidays.

SPOON MEASUREMENTS:

All SPOONS  are 12" in length; darker wood is Beech with a bowl of 2" x 3";  lighter wood is Ash with a bowl of 1-3/4" x 3".  Both are very sturdy, restaurant quality spoons.

When placing a Custom order please choose your wood type.
